Closed-cell spray polyurethane foam (ccSPF) insulation from TerraStrong is an ideal roofing material because it can be sprayed on a new roof substrate, used for tear-off replacement, or applied over an existing roof as a re-cover. It provides a weather-tight barrier, has excellent thermal performance, and can be highly reflective when used in conjunction with protective coatings.

Our ccSPF roofing systems can be applied directly over build-up roofing (BUR), modified bitumen, single-ply membranes, concrete, wood, asphalt shingles, clay tile, metal decks and existing metal roof systems. Because it adds very little weight (example: 2 inches of foam, protective coating, and granules adds 0.5 lb/ft² to the dead load of the roof, with the foam insulation contributing only 0.25 of the total), TerraStrong is frequently used as a recover system over existing roofs. There is no need for tear-off if the substrate is dry and the deck structurally sound.
