Slabs and Foundations
Heat loss in foundations can be significant, requiring appropriate insulation for proper thermal performance of the building envelope. Exterior below-grade insulation provides an opportunity for structural enhancement and improved building performance.
TerraStrong insulating and waterproofing systems provide insulation between the structure and the surrounding soil, and protect the structure from environmental challenges, such as compression and expansion due to frost, as well as moisture and water from wet soil. In addition to insulating the foundation and below-grade walls, some new construction includes a preliminary or "rough" concrete slab covered with a sprayed layer of ccSPF, which is then covered with the finished concrete floor slab.
